Day Visits for Children find a Residential School Journey

Many younger children find a residential school journey a daunting prospect. A day visit can therefore be a good way to introduce them to the experience of a trip away from their school or base, either as a single day visit or a prelude to a longer stay.

Having familiarised themselves with our centre, they are likely to be very comfortable if they return for a longer stay.

Activities for a day visit can be arranged to suit your preferences. A typical day might include environmental studies in our woodland and pond areas, time spent with the animals in our Farmyard Funworld and a visit to Topsy Turvy World indoor adventure play area.

Our newest Day Visit study topic covers Unit K9 of the history syllabus offering an exciting day of hands-on activities which will include all aspects of unit K9.

Topics include the Home Front, Children at War, Women at War, and Animals in Wartime". Practical activities including 1940's house, rationing,  air raid shelter drill,, code breaking etc.

All activities take place within our centre which during WW2 was the Operations Headquarters of the USAAF 8th Fighter Command and many of the original buildings remain in place.

BOOKINGS AVAILABLE NOW FOR 1 or 3 day visits for 2008.

We can provide worksheets linked to National Curriculum topics to achieve outcomes matched to specific Key Stages.
